Lecturer:
Terry Kondralian
Armenian-born Terry Kondralian has been a familiar face by many Miami clients and colleagues in the Oriental rug industry since 1979. His knowledge and professional background, however, began at a much earlier age, having been born into a long-line family history of rugs.
At the early age of 11, he was sent to study in a monastery in Jerusalem. Besides his daily responsibilities of schooling, he was also assigned an apprenticeship for the care and restoration of antique rugs, carpets, tapestries and embroidery.
After completing his studies in Jerusalem, he traveled as an undergraduate student to many countries such as Lebanon, Armenia, Syria, Iran, France, Russia, England and United States. In 1974, he received his Masters of Divinity (Theology) from the University of New York. After living in New York, Boston, Houston, and Cleveland, he settled in Miami and joined forces with Avakiansʹ Orient Express, as General Manger of Federated Department Stores in Burdines at Dadeland Mall.
At present, he is owner and president of Gables Oriental Rugs and Hilliard Rug Cleaners (which has been in existence since 1930) and is a distinguished member of Oriental Rug Retailers of America.
Please note that seating is limited and booking are taken on a first come, first serve basis. Thank you.
We look forward to seeing you there.
